What’s in Season: Autumn Flowers for April and May
Autumn in Sydney brings some of our favourite blooms — and some of the most beautiful arrangements of the year. As the heat softens and the light turns golden, the flowers available to us shift into richer, more considered palettes.
Dahlias
Dahlias are the signature bloom of autumn. From dinner-plate varieties in deep burgundy and burnt orange to smaller pompom forms in blush and cream, they bring extraordinary texture and volume to any arrangement. We source the finest stems available each week from trusted Australian growers.
Garden Roses
Autumn is when garden roses are at their most fragrant. The cooler nights slow the bloom, allowing the petals to develop more fully and the scent to intensify. Expect full, cupped heads in dusty pinks, warm whites, and antique creams.
Ranunculus
The first ranunculus of the season begin to appear in April — delicate, layered blooms that photograph beautifully and last well in the vase. A favourite for wedding work and gifting alike.
Seasonal foliage
Autumn also brings a shift in the foliage we work with — deeper greens, eucalyptus in silver and olive, and the occasional branch with turning leaves that adds an editorial quality to larger arrangements.
We source the finest stems available each week, so every arrangement reflects what’s truly at its best right now. Shop our current arrangements
