SUSTAINABILITY
Susan Avery and Sustainability
At Susan Avery, sustainability is a natural extension of how we have always worked rather than a recent trend.
For more than four decades, our approach to floristry has focused on quality, longevity and thoughtful sourcing.

We prioritise seasonal flowers and work closely with Australian growers wherever possible. This reduces transport impact and ensures the flowers we use are fresher, stronger and longer lasting. Designing with the seasons also allows our arrangements to feel more authentic and connected to the natural rhythms of the landscape.
Our design philosophy also supports sustainability. Instead of mass-produced arrangements, each bouquet is composed individually by experienced florists who understand balance, structure and flower performance. This careful approach reduces waste and ensures flowers are used thoughtfully and purposefully.
In the studio we continually refine our practices to minimise unnecessary packaging and waste. Containers are chosen for durability and reuse, and many of our clients return vessels for future arrangements or repurposing.
For Susan Avery, sustainability is ultimately about respect — for the flowers themselves, for the growers who produce them and for the clients who trust us to create something meaningful. It is a quieter, considered form of luxury that values quality, longevity and responsible design.

Refined, bespoke blooms for events and people.
