Planning Office Christmas Decorations in Sydney: A Practical Brief

Where would you like Christmas to make the biggest impression in your office?

Start there.

It might be reception, a shared space or the rooms where you welcome clients. You don't need to decorate every corner.

At Susan Avery, we design and install bespoke office Christmas decorations. A few photographs and some practical details will help us start the conversation.

Choose the spaces that matter

Look at how people arrive and move through your office.

One strong feature might be right for your workplace. Or you might want related decorations across several floors.

Send us photographs and approximate dimensions. Include the view from the entrance and reception desk, not just a close-up of the area you want decorated.

Tell us the look and the budget

Traditional? Colourful? Something simple and understated?

Tell us what appeals, along with any brand colours or details you need us to follow. Let us know what you don't like too.

Then give us a budget you're comfortable with. We can discuss where to put the emphasis.

Check that your quote covers the whole job: design, supply or hire, delivery, installation, bump-out and collection. A supply-only price isn't the same as a team coming in to install everything.

When do you want it ready?

Start with the date you'd like the decorations finished. Also decide when they need to come down.

Then check when the building will let us work. Do we need to come in after hours? Book a loading dock or lift? Complete a security induction?

Get in touch with your preferred dates so we can confirm availability and the time we'll need for your installation.

Talk to your building team early

Your facilities or building manager can help us understand what's possible.

Where can decorations be attached? Is power available if the design needs it? What approvals are required for hanging pieces or lighting?

We also need to keep exits, access routes and building systems clear.

If specialist work is needed, agree who's doing it and what needs approval before installation day.

What happens while the decorations are up?

Nominate someone in the office we can contact.

If fresh flowers or plants are part of the scheme, discuss their care. Check whether ongoing attention is included rather than assuming it comes with the installation.

Plan the pack-down too

Which items are hired? Which are yours to keep? Who takes everything down, and when?

If anything needs to be returned or stored, agree those details in advance. Removal and storage should be clear in your proposal.

What should you send us?

  • Your office address, floors and the spaces you'd like decorated.
  • Photographs, approximate dimensions and any decorations you already have.
  • The colours, style and budget you have in mind.
  • Your installation and removal dates.
  • The building's access requirements and your facilities contact.
